Escape on a luxury African safari and be eyewitness to the Great Migration of the Serengeti
Experience both solitude and soothing comfort on this classic Tanzanian safari, where only the canvas walls of your tent separate you from the magical Serengeti.
Over a million wildebeest, half a million Thompson’s gazelle and 200 000 zebra, all simultaneously on the move. Relentlessly stalked by ferocious predators as only Africa makes them. This is the scene that awaits you on our two Serengeti Under Canvas camps.
Carefully positioned to give you the ultimate ringside seat for this amazing annual spectacle, each private camp has eight luxury tents with double beds, giving you the perfect blend of indulgence and authenticity.
Flushing toilets, crisp linen sheets and hot gravity showers ensure that you feel relaxed and refreshed every day, before we head out into the wilderness to witness Mother Nature’s most spectacular show.
The Inside Word
The fact that you can plonk yourself on a deep sofa in the dining tent, cool drink in hand, and watch the exotic wildlife go about its business. Or alternatively, sit around the campfire, under the cool African night sky, and share stories from the day that’s just gone. Incredible.
Learn Something New...
Big cats, bigger elephants, antelope or insects, whatever your passion (they come in all shapes and sizes), our highly trained guides and trackers are on hand to tell you everything there is to know. All you have to do is ask.
Experience a Taste of...
Dining under the stars. Well, as good as. Both our Serengeti camps have a dedicated lounge and dining tent, decked out with custom-made Indian rugs and polished brass samovars to add a touch of elegance. Delicious meals are cooked on an open fire, and after dinner there’s always a decadent dessert served with tea, coffee or cognac. Enjoy.
Hearing what you think is a roll of thunder that lasts for ages, and then realising it’s actually the sound of hooves, as a vast herd of wildebeest speeds into sight.
Flying Time From The UK
Around 13 hours, via Amsterdam to Kilimanjaro.
From here guests can fly in to the nearest Serengeti airstrip. A vehicle from the camp will be waiting to collect you, so you can enjoy a game drive on the way there.
